Aptos – Lifecycle-Driven Efficiency That Reduces Waste

Aptos brings sustainability into the operational fold through its product lifecycle-driven planning. The forecasting and replenishment logic of the platform is designed to align inventory flow with product seasonality and will help retailers not be stuck with end-of-life overstocks and unneeded markdowns. Aptos' strength includes managing both new and aging products across multiple seasons while using real-time demand sensing and replenishment adjustments. Although the platform is missing emissions tracking or ESG analytics, it does contribute to sustainability. It can help retailers keep their inventory performance lean across the entire product lifecycle.

Solvoyo – Flexible Architecture, but Sustainability Requires Customization

Solvoyo Offers an AI-enabled replenishment platform plus convenience in supply chain flows, Solvoyo performs well in high-velocity and fresh product environments. The platform readily accommodates modeling in terms of freshness constraints and expiration timelines and is useful for managing sustainability-influenced operations in grocery and perishables. The platform does not currently have embedded ESG analytics or standardized emissions tracking tools, for example. Sustainability-focused capabilities include user-defined features that consider scenario modeling for the sourcing of products or the routes used for fulfillment.

Consequently, the extent Solvoyo contributes to sustainability outcomes is dependent on how the retailer customizes and implements the platform. The capability for flexibility is a benefit for customized planning - retailers considering sustainability should understand that, if they want out-of-the-box sustainability in their decision-making, Solvoyo will require some work.

Retalon – Forecasting Strength, but Limited Sustainability Features

Retalon delivers strong performance in core retail planning areas such as demand forecasting, allocation, and replenishment, all unified through a single AI engine. This enables retailers to reduce overstocking, avoid excess inventory, and improve overall planning efficiency. However, the platform currently lacks explicit support for sustainability metrics. It does not model shelf-life constraints, offer emissions tracking, or provide tools for ESG scenario planning. While Retalon does not currently offer standalone emissions tracking or ESG scenario modules out of the box, its advanced planning engine lays a strong foundation for sustainable operations.

Sustainable Retail Begins at the Planning Table

Sustainability isn’t just a marketing goal or compliance requirement but it’s an operational lever. From emissions to spoilage to markdowns, the environmental cost of poor forecasting is measurable and avoidable.

Retailers serious about sustainability need platforms that:

  • Plan with shelf-life and expiry in mind
  • Simulate emissions trade-offs and sourcing routes
  • Reduce inventory bloat through real-time replenishment
  • Enable scenario planning that balances profit and planet

These aren’t bonus features. They are must-have capabilities in retail.
