Market Share: Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS), 2025, Worldwide
Report Description:
Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks are a severe threat to the Internet, particularly Internet commerce. DDoS attacks exhaust the resources of the victim server and prevent the victims server from providing services to legitimate users. Most of the DDoS attacks are flooding victims with bogus and unwanted traffic. The attackers use a series of malware-infected computer workstations called botnets. The attackers main goal is to completely choke access to the targeted company. The attackers are focused on interrupting business operations and internal communications within the company. Such cyber-attacks are destroying the core foundations of companies and resulting in losses. The method to prevent such attacks is called DDoS mitigation, which secures the companys network by processing it through a series of highly limited systems with filter channels. The mitigation process requires a practical approach to distinguish human activity from bots and captured web programs. Encrypting signatures and monitoring incoming traffic like IP addresses, java scripts, and various HTML headers are a few ways to minimize the number of attacks and build a wall of protection around the user organizations.
Quadrant Knowledge Solutions defines DDoS Mitigation as ‘a set of tools and techniques that secure websites, applications, networks, servers, and IP addresses by deflecting various types of DDoS attacks like volume-based, protocol, and application-layer attacks from the network connected to the internet.’
