In another discussion session centered on the Digital Twin of an Organization (DTO), I had the opportunity to engage with the BusinessOptix team, consisting of Jarrod Poynton (VP Product), Travis Bristow (Chief Innovation Officer), and Lisa Swanson (VP Product Marketing). They assisted me in comprehending BusinessOptix's suite and provided the latest insights into the DTO offerings.

BusinessOptix has undergone a transformation from a Business Process Analysis (BPA) platform and is presently dedicated to enhancing process intelligence within its business process management and transformation suite. This suite offers operational visibility into processes, people, and technology interconnected within an organization. The emphasis lies on process discovery, analysis, design, delivery, and optimization. In the discovery stage, the platform provides the visibility you need by mining the processes (using logs from sources systems), input results from other process miners, classic modelling by analyst, importing models from other formats or rapid capture from the staff doing the process day to day. The repository contains the data that describes the process and its associated meta data for analysis.. In the analysis stage, it generates a current state model, identifies opportunities (by comparison to a best practice or previous proven interventions), and runs simulations to compare the efficacy of different interventions. Subsequently, it enables the design of the best future state model to meet the transformation objectives (whether that’s cost, experience, sustainability or something else), provides capabilities for process improvement, and facilitates business automation delivery. Finally, the process is optimized through continuous monitoring and ongoing insight generation. This dynamic copy of the operation in BusinessOptix is  called a digital twin. Having a digital twin of the operation aids organizations in improving and delivering existing processes, designing new processes, and supporting digital transformation.

Following are some of the highlights that was shown into the platform demonstration:

Metadata Repository: This manages and stores process data and documents to actively create process models. The metadata can be extended for analysis, simulation, and dashboarding needs.

Business Capability Map/Metamodel: This consolidates organizational architecture into a single dashboard, encompassing systems, APIs, processes, and people – all shown in interconnected manner in both tabular and graphical views.

Opportunity Management Dashboard: This provides profitable opportunities to enhance business processes based on various KPIs and metric representations which is customizable according to organizational needs. Some of the metrics parameters include lead time reduction, process time reduction, increase in process automation rate, tonnes of CO2 removed etc. Opportunities can also be defined through scenarios such as "as-is pandemic," "as-is portal outage," "to-be pandemic," and "to-be portal outage" to mitigate risks and identify further opportunities.

CXO Dashboard: Specifically designed for strategic-level decision-making, it includes metrics and KPIs such as cash flow, revenue, operating profits, and improvement opportunities to make decisions based on process models and maps. This links the transformation initiatives within the operation to the strategic goals of the enterprise.

AI Integration: The vendor is actively incorporating AI for the process discovery stage, search, and building the process repository. The AI can also gather insights generated from processes and make recommendations for new processes for improving user experience.

In conclusion, the engagement with the BusinessOptix team revealed a transformative shift from a Business Process Analysis (BPA) platform to a dedicated focus on enhancing process intelligence. The DTO suite's emphasis on process discovery, analysis, design, and optimization, showcased in the platform demonstration, highlights its role in improving existing processes, designing new ones, and supporting digital transformation. Noteworthy features such as the Metadata Repository, Business Capability Map, Opportunity Management Dashboard, CXO Dashboard, and AI integration underscore BusinessOptix's commitment to providing a comprehensive and innovative solution for effective organizational management and improvement.
