Gamification is incorporating game-like elements in non-game contexts, encouraging different facets of HR such as recruitment, onboarding, and L&D. Gamification integrated with AI, the metaverse, and data analytics will be the future of HR, thereby encouraging employees to learn new skills, increase their engagement, and maintain equilibrium between work and fun.
AI and chatbots: AI and chatbots enable making the training memorable, reinforce learning, enhance the learning engagement ability of employees, and facilitate knowledge transfer within the organization. In this digital age, all employees expect modern ways of getting information, such as eLearning modules, Google, emails, YouTube, Pinterest, and infinite websites on the fly. Several universities utilize bots as a platform, enabling them to be used as a teaching aid for students. Everyone is aware of “train the trainer” programs; however, it is time to launch train the bot, and the bot trains everyone. Generative AI systematizes content creation, encouraging L&D teams to make interactive learning content, organizing gamut data, generating insights, and exchanging knowledge in the workforce. AI and chatbots enhance the cycle of learning, thereby making it more productive and personalized.
VR and AR: VR and AR are emerging surreal technologies such as VR and AR having enormous scope for enhancing and uplifting L&D and HR modules, thereby transforming the way HR functions. We can say that VR and AR are digital twin technologies, enabling employees to interact and engage with each other virtually. VR simulations offer organizations pragmatic training plans, whereas AR enables real-time data. The latest technologies elevate the digital onboarding process, helping new employees develop engagement, bonding, and trust with their officemates, which continues to increase agility in all facets of HR.
"The landscape of Learning and Development (L&D) has undergone significant transformation over the past five years, and this evolution is set to continue in the coming years. Given the intricate nature of the L&D terrain, it is crucial for organizations to comprehend and strive to meet the demands of both the organization and its employees, establishing a proper equilibrium. The convergence of new and emerging digital technologies, blended workforces, and refined training strategies will prove highly beneficial in ensuring optimized training and upskilling employee efforts in 2024 and beyond."
