Microsoft's Secure Future Initiative (SFI) has recently undergone significant expansion, bolstering cybersecurity protection throughout the company. The core pillars of this enhanced initiative are rooted in a proactive security approach. Firstly, 'Secure by Design' underscores the integration of security measures from the inception of any product or service to minimize vulnerabilities. Secondly, 'Secure by Default' ensures that critical security features are automatically enabled, eliminating the need for manual intervention. Thirdly, 'Secure Operations' entails continuous enhancement of security controls and monitoring to mitigate existing and emerging threats. Complementing these pillars are concrete actions such as safeguarding identities and secrets and driving ongoing improvements measured through clear objectives. Specifically, measures include protecting identity infrastructure signing and platform keys with rapid and automatic rotation using hardware security modules (HSMs) and confidential compute. This comprehensive strategy underscores Microsoft's commitment to fortifying its security infrastructure and fostering a culture of vigilance across the organization.
