Ataccama, founded in 2007, is a global software company headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. The company develops, deploys, and manages a unified data management platform encompassing automated data quality, master data management, and metadata management. Ataccama, through its investment in the data cloud company, Snowflake, is increasing the depth of integration for data observability and processing advancements for its joint customers.

According to Ataccama’s press release, these advancements will be introduced alongside the latest version of the Ataccama ONE platform. The company can, in turn, provide data quality features, such as rule evaluation, data quality monitoring, and profiling, to Snowflake’s customers.

With this upgradation, Ataccama is expanding its data quality offerings for Snowflake’s customers. The functionalities added will be processing data from Snowflake utilizing Ataccama’s processing engine and an improved user experience for the new pushdown capability. Ataccama stated it would natively process custom functions used for data profiling and quality checks through Snowpark, the developer framework of Snowflake. Ataccama also mentioned that direct data processing within Snowflake brings reliable performance, enabling the evaluation of 150 million records with 50 data quality rules in 15 seconds.

According to Ashray Gadekar, an Analyst at Quadrant Knowledge Solutions, “Ataccama’s advancements will enhance data security and governance features throughout the data lifecycle by running data quality and data profiling features directly on Snowflake’s platform. This integration eliminates the need for transferring data to external servers and services, enhancing the speed and security of data transfer.”
