Accenture expands its industrial AI services with the acquisition of Flutura

Accenture, an IT services and consultancy provider acquired Flutura, a Bengaluru-based industrial artificial intelligence company. Flutura specializes in industrial data science services for manufacturers and other asset-intensive businesses, with an AI platform that provides self-service advanced analytics solutions. Accentures industrial AI services are strengthened by the acquisition, which aims to improve the operation of plants, refineries, and supply chains while also assisting clients in meeting their net zero goals more quickly.

Accentures latest acquisition is the latest in a series of linked purchases. It purchased Japanese data science startup ALBERT last year, after earlier acquiring a slew of companies throughout the world to bolster its data offerings.

According to Arun U, analyst at Quadrant Knowledge Solutions, “Accentures acquisition of Flutura could be viewed as a strategic move to strengthen the companys capabilities in industrial IoT and AI-driven analytics. Flutura has a solid reputation for providing industrial AI solutions, which aligns nicely with Accenture’s ambition to broaden its services in predictive maintenance, asset optimization, and other related areas. Accenture may be able to tap into Fluturas experience and technology as a result of this acquisition, allowing them to give more complete and advanced solutions to their clients”.
