Last week, I had the opportunity to connect in a briefing call with GB TEC as part of the Intelligent Process Orchestration (IPO) SPARK Matrix research study at Quadrant Knowledge Solutions. This opportunity arose from my engagements with significant players in the global market. During the call, I engaged with the GB TEC team comprising Marc Stromberg, Natalie Bayram, and others. Marc provided a comprehensive overview of the Business Information Centre (BIC) Process Design and Process Execution platform, which provides end-to-end support for the IPO solution. The key capabilities of the GB TEC offering primarily include process design, process execution, decision automation, process monitoring, case archiving, implementing user forms, externally triggered workflows, and process simulation.
Marc initiated the discussion by elucidating GB TEC’s differentiation from other key market players through its model transformation capability. This feature enables the transformation of flowcharts/process models into various views, facilitating comprehension for individuals unfamiliar with BPMN or flowcharts. It delineates tasks, responsibilities, and necessary tools required for the process. Such transformation enhances communication, collaboration, and participation which are the building blocks of a process orchestration platform. This will, in turn, enhance the simulation capabilities, enabling observation and analysis of how designed processes behave under different conditions.
The process design platform serves as a comprehensive tool for optimizing and enhancing business processes through its key functions, which include process mapping, process analysis, and process mining. The process design platform extends its capabilities to Enterprise Architecture, offering a holistic view of the organisation's structure and processes. It incorporates Process Intelligence, leveraging AI to provide real-time insights into ongoing processes. It seamlessly integrates with S4/HANA processes, ensuring compatibility with SAP's advanced business suite for streamlined and efficient business operations.
The process execution platform is a system designed to streamline and improve different elements of company processes through no-code/low-code process automation. One of its primary functions includes AI-driven no-code and low-code development, empowering users to construct applications and workflows without requiring substantial coding experience. The platform also excels in workflow management, offering tools for efficiently designing, executing, and optimizing workflows. It enables end-to-end automation and orchestration, enabling seamless integration and coordination of diverse tasks and processes.
In terms of business operations and partnerships, GB TEC has a large network, with Apromore as its largest shareholder. It has also forged partnerships with Celonis and UiPath for task mining and robotic process automation. It collaborates with Microsoft for conversational platforms while concurrently developing Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) capabilities in-house.
During the demo session, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the platform's functionality, which encompasses a user-friendly modeling tool for visualizing processes, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, reporting, and customized dashboards tailored to specific user personas. These features effectively empower users to make informed business decisions aligned with their respective roles. The platform also enables users to design and create processes using BPMN, leverage drag-and-drop features, incorporate scenarios, conduct simulations, and generate predictive analytics for enhanced business modeling and decision-making capabilities.
Aligned with current global trends, the platform employs integrated AI methods to continually analyze processes for optimization potential and undertake targeted measures. GB TEC is planning to introduce Next-Gen AI capabilities, such as AI Modeler, AI Translator, AI Copilot, AI Master Data, AI Process Analytics, AI Form Generator, and AI Chatbot, to facilitate cutting-edge process modeling and process automation.
In conclusion, the BIC Platform serves as a catalyst for organizations seeking to enhance their business performance and achieve resilient growth through the modeling business and processes. With advanced features such as conversational process modeling, process execution, AI translator, and AI copilot, the platform facilitates digital transformation, resulting in improved business outcomes and enhanced customer value. The platform offers intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, enabling users to create visual representations of business processes. These tools incorporate drag-and-drop functionality, AI, and table-based capabilities for designing process flows. To conclude, GB TEC’s innovative platform appears to lead in advancing process design, execution, and orchestration, offering simplicity and continuous improvement in line with evolving organizational needs.
